Exploring the development of scientific research on Marine Protected Areas: From conservation to global ocean sustainability
2021
Abstract Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are playing a central role in the achievement of ocean sustainability and, since 2000, their global coverage has increased over ten times. The success of MPAs, and therefore the delivery of their potential outcomes for human well-being and global sustainability, requires multi-disciplinary, holistic, and comprehensive approaches for its achievement. In this study, the global scientific literature on MPAs was quantitatively reviewed through bibliometrics approaches, investigating patterns and trends in its development over time. In particular, bibliometric network and citation burst analyses of keywords were performed using VOSviewer and CiteSpace softw…
Knowledge Mapping of Optimal Taxation Studies: A Bibliometric Analysis and Network Visualization
2022
The problem of tax policy design has been an important concern over the years, involving comprehensive scientific research. In this study, our major goal was to examine and map the optimal taxation research thematic structure by using bibliometric analysis. The analysis was carried out with the CiteSpace software on publications indexed by Web of Science (WoS) between 1975 and 2021. This document offers an actual bibliometric analysis of the current research climate in terms of optimal taxation, based on the following aspects: (1) descriptive characteristics of publication outputs (distribution by years, authors, countries, journals); (2) collaboration analysis of authors, institutions, and…

The Role of Sharing Practise and Dematerialized Services in Smart Cities
2016

The conservation of biodiversity is a worldwide recognised priority, now fully included in the inter-national agenda of the United Nations. Several international conventions call states to work towards the halt of the depletion of biodiversity and the promotion of a better environment. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) are widely recognised as today’s leading environmental conventions. CITES monitors and regulates the international trade of plants and animals and it is in force since 1975. During 36 years of action it saved from extinction several species and it is enforced in almost all states. The CBD goes …
